"At some point I stopped watching sports all together. I no longer had any interest. Sports just didn’t seem all that important. Unless of course my Daughter was playing." Not a sports-ball person either. Only time it's fun is with other people, especially my younger daughter who likes soccer & baseball (the older one had hula as her high school athletic endeavour).

This reminds me of my childhood and how my family fun events in Aspen just got priced out. Rooting for a snow day in a town like Aspen meant we really need a blizzard. Well we did have those days and every one became a family day out skiing... usually Snowmass. Back in my time the ski slopes liked to fill the seats (Slopes) with locals and folks that knew how to ski and make it look amazing like a Warren Miller film. A season pass back then was $120.00 now its close to $3000.00. Not quite the same as what you speak of but the owners have lost their love of community and local support. Sad to see our culture become so greedy.
