The guys who made all of the Star Wars, and Indiana Jones films? What the hell are they doing making docs? And not just a couple, they made a whole bunch.
Saw the Bad News Bears at Grauman's when I was 11 soon moved to Aspen where I became a Bad News Bear on the Aspen little league team. Where I was a ball boy at net for the first rematch of Borg and McEnroe. McEnroe told me to F’off while Bjorn was gracious and signed. Later that night in the club locker room I heard John fighting with Tatum O’Neal on the locker room phone. There were no real cell phones at the time. And this is a Grauman’s Kevin Bacon tale! To your comments of docs. The new metaverse.
the original plans were to have packets available to schools, but this is also when the Educational foundation was set up & didn't quite get going. the docs were finally made with the intention to be very short & fit onto the DVDs, but they kept getting longer and wouldn't fit. So they were released as a boxed set, that didn't sell wel.
I worked on most of the Young Indy TV shows. They were fun, even though the history was mangled to fit. Always looked forward to the documentaries that planned to help explain the factual history.
I know you worked on the Young Indy shows, I really had no idea that they made those documentaries as well. Were they marketed to schools, or just listed somewhere as background to some of the stories? I'm enjoying the hell out of them.
Hi Kelley, thanks for sharing this information with us. I will definitely check out some of these, especially the documentary about Erich Von Stroheim, who is one of my heroes. I'm also glad to know I'm not the only person in America who hates, absolutely hates, "Return of the Jedi."

That's too bad because they really are quite good.
