Hi Kelley, great post! I frequently forget to take my phone with me when I go out to do errands or go see bands/movies. Invariably, those are the times someone has always tried to contact me. When I eventually call them back, I'm always met with a comment like "Where were you? I tried to call you and then texted you?" Of course, they try to guilt me into not having my phone with me at all times. But, I just reply with, "hey I grew up with landline telephones. I got along just fine all those years, so I don't feel the need to take mine everywhere I go."
A perfect come back. It is funny how quickly we are supposed to respond to others when we might have other things going on, or we have left our phone at home. Sometimes I wonder if this is really progress, or...
Hey Kelly good point the more we focus on ourselves the healthier we are... It is true our devices are slowly choking our human existence of just living in the present.
As I finished reading your post (yes, on my iPhone) extolling the wisdom of less screen time, I was met with your invitation to click on a link to watch something on my iPhone 😂
As long as you're on your iphone you might as well check the link I put up instead of looking at someone else's link. I'm just saying... I hope all is well, thank you for leaving a comment, I really appreciate it. Take care.
It’s so hard to be nuanced via text. I thought the emoji would convey the light-heartedness of my reply. I do intend to look at your link, I was just-humorously-pointing out the irony. I meant no offense.
I was not offended in any way shape or form. I thought your comment was funny and I tried to reply in the same way but as you say, it is hard to be nuanced in text. Thank you so much for reading and commenting. Sincerely, Kelley

Good advice. I too have avoided getting a laptop to better be able to avoid too much distraction.
